Well it's just like buses, you wait decades for a new displacement board then two come along.

Interesting. Thanks for posting it.

I remember when Remi posted the video of the prototype doing a good speed for the wind, someone noticed a fin and asked about it. He said it was "an old protype". It may have been an old prototype, but obviously a prototype for this new model.

Very impressive. It looks as though that board has a rear fin?

All the best

Not being a racer, I would be interested in a board like this, but likely not at the price for these types of construction.

I wonder if Starboard or any other manufacturer will ever bring out a plastic version? As it is not a planing board, weight shouldn't be a problem (other than carrying). A guy at work said he has two kayaks, one is 25Kg, the other is 35Kg. He says the 35Kg one is faster as it is a foot (30cm) longer. Plastic kayaks seem to be popular and they appear to be a similar shape to the Serenity.

Maybe I'm the only person interested in a plastic Serenity, but previously you could have made a similar argument in saying, "Who would be interested in a dedicated light wind board?" Obviously Starboard thought so and it has been worth it for them to continue the Serenity.

Also I'd like to see a retracting centerboard. Probably easier to launch and less damaging to hit something in murky shallow water. Racers would likely prefer it too for downwind control.

Interesting idea. Those plastic catamarans do suffer speedwise compared to the more sophisticated examples, but they have fair part of the market for their all round fun use.
