 Sticky daggerboard
I've found that my daggerboard is very sticky and difficult to transition from retracted to fully down and vice versa.
In yesterday's races I had to drop my sail to move my daggerboard by hand. At one point, I had the daggerboard angled forward by nearly 45 degrees because when lowering it, I pressed too hard and it got wedged forward.
Chris T mentioned after yesterday's race that it is common to spray silicon lubricant on the daggerboard to ensure smooth operating of the daggerboard.
I'm interested in the forum's comments on this and other techniques to ensure smooth operations of the daggerboard. How often should one spray lubricant the board? Where on the board should one spray? What is a good lubricant to use?

 Re: Sticky daggerboard
I've used "Sailkote" (I think it is called). Used it only once in a while on the Kona One. Made a big difference. Sprayed the gasket and centreboard. Worth a try.

 Re: Sticky daggerboard
I tried the silicon spray today - what a revelation!
The daggerboard moves with silky smoothness. I won't ever sail without spraying the daggerboard again.
Thanks for the advice.
