Hi Guys and Gals,

I was directed here via the lovely people at seabreeze.com.

Ive bought myself a second hand 1987 minstra equip board. its in good nic but unfortunity when i use my uphaul to get my rig out of the water the mast base slides along the track and attempts to remove my feet in the process.

I have managed to remove the mast track from the board and cant see any visable signs of damage except 'old age'. Is it possible to repair the mast track easily through replacement parts ? id be even happy to take it to a repairer any where near North Sydney if anyone knows a decent contact etc


Any help would be greatily appreciated.

Hi Matt,
I don't know about fixing the track, maybe the rope just needs more tension, but when uphauling its a good idea to keep the board square to the rig using you feet. That should also prevent the mast track sliding around.

While the above is worthy of your consideration it will not fix the problem in the long run. If you are in North Sydney Australia, I would try Sam from Windsurfnsnow who may be able to get you a replacement track. Ph 9971 0999.

i just replaced my track on my mistral, it was going to cost me $200 plus to get it out of sydney so i ordered one from england including freight it cost me $110!!!!!!! plus it was here in a week

Where in England did you order it from? Do you have any details that you could share with other readers?
