I just recently purchased a Bic Jungle .... here is a complete initial review
http://www.standupzone.com/forum/index.php?topic=1861.0

the Jungle has excellent glide .. the supplied daggerboard is nice , deep and effective ... in light winds the board goes up wind very nicely with the daggerboard ... powered up the board planes well with the daggerboard removed and is controllable and easy to tack and gybe with the supplied fin .... and goes upwind nicely in powered conditions without the daggerboard by using the rail ... It also has footstrap inserts and is supplied with footstraps which I have not used... it has a nice long mast track which allows for adjustment of the mast step position ...

It is excellent in standup paddle mode and is a joy to paddle in flat water conditions ..

I have not taken it into waves yet but am looking foward to get it to the coast. ...

Post Re: bic jungle
I am the "guest " above .. just registered ! I have been lurking around here for a while ... nice site... recently "rediscovered " longboard windsurfing by purchasing an old wayler one design for a 100 bucks and sailing it with a modern rig , I have had great fun on the thing ..

I have recently become interested in Standup paddling and standup surfing and took some lessons in Hawaii ... I have been very interested in the idea of whether it really is possible to produce a compromise longboard design that will work well both as a longboard windsurfer and as a Standup paddler ... I almost purchased the Kona One but was concerned how well it would do as a standup paddler ... also researched the mistral pacifico and starboard 12'6" and Naish 11'6" ...

I do think that to really function in longboard mode in flat water compared to just using an SUP as a lightwind wave sailing longboard ... a daggerboard is really very nice .. All the other SUP's don't have daggerboards , the Starboard 12'6" SUP has a small center fin .. . I really think that BIC has done a great job at hitting a really effective compromise design ... the daggerboard is deep and effective and like an old time Wayler or Windsurfer one design it is just pulled out of the board .. creating a very nice light weight board for paddling and surfing .

I would say the Jungle sails like a somewhat wider version of my old F2 Comet 10'10" funboard of years past ... I am sure the Kona one would be a better dedicated longboard sailing board , but for versatility the Jungle I think can't be beat and I am very , very happy with the purchase...

Remember windsurf long boards are around 26" in width and modern SUP boards are wider at 28 " to 30" .. the extra width and flat center of the Jungle make it very easy to paddle standing up compared to my Wayler windsurf board and is almost the equal of wider and longer dedicated SUP boards ..

This Standup thing is really catching on .. .and boards that double in the SUP mode as well as sailboards and that really do well in both modes would be very nice.... ( before I got into SUP , I was shocked to see that Clay Feeter's new Windsurf Journal magazine , had been renamed the Standup Journal -Surf and Sail Journal .. sign of the times???- by the way nice mag !)
I was really worried that the Bic Jungle would be the worst of all worlds and a mediocore sailboard and mediocore standup board... I am very happy that it has turned out to be truly a joy both sailing and paddling !

here is another thread I found comparing the Kona One and the Bic Jungle and other boards as hybrid SUP/longboard sailboards

This new starboard one looks like it has a decent centreboard.
may be a way to cover both sup and longboard windsurfing

That new starboard 12-6 looks very nice ! . thanks for the link! ..I like the idea of a fully removable centerboard to lighten up the board for paddling or paddle surfing ... I think the comments of the Starboard company folks are right on ... If we can get a group of SUP boards from different manufacturers that really double well as lightwind longboard windsurfers it is a way of really getting some more folks back into windsurfing ... I don't live near waves or the coast and most of my time on the water is spent sailing on lakes or rivers... but having a board that you can paddle about when there is no wind or little wind is very nice ... before I got my Bic Jungle .. I took my Wayler one design up to Lake Tahoe , had a great time sailing the thing with a modern rig in light winds and also having great family fun on the board paddling it ... here are some pics of my wife and son paddling the ancient Wayler
