I don't know what the topic is here, but that's never stopped me...

There's also a "school"rental in Rose Bay.

In all cases, whether rental or learning, make sure YOU (and not them) pick the right conditions for learning or renting.

That is: wind on-shore or not far from. Booms at underarm level. Board large enough. Boom and sail tight - the last thing you need is a loose, floppy rig.

If you leave it to them, they just want the cheapest $$, which I could understand. So you'll get by default whatever board happens to be already rigged or lying around, and no consideration for wind direction or your chance of a good time.

Anyhow, have fun!

A further option for learning to windsurf in Sydney Australia is the course that Dobroyd Aquatic Club runs. As far as I am aware this course trains the most number of people in the state compared to any other school and has a longboard focus. The beginner’s course that we offer results in the YA Basic Skills Certificate being awarded. The training is conducted by a very skilled and YA qualified coach who also won the Raceboard National Titles this year.

Further detail can be found at - http://www.dobroydsailing.com/learn/learn-to-windsurf

Cheers
